Software Engineer

Gather business requirements from non-technical and technical stakeholders; research and review emerging technologies that may present opportunities for company to advance services offered to consumers and merchant partners; assist in the preparation of engineering project proposals and be responsible for engineering hours estimate and technical compliance; provide technical review to team members; create web applications using Ruby on Rails, HTML5, ES6, React; automate test suite using Capybara, Rspec and Jest; design, document and develop RESTful APIs; setup continuous integrations platforms like Gitlab or Jenkins; configure containerized environments using Docker; implement server-to-server and client-to-server authentication and authorization protocols; configure server-side tools including web servers, smtp/pop3, VPNs; use issue tracking systems (e.g. Jira, Redmine); follow software design patterns and comply to industry standards; work with relational and noSQL databases; demonstrate new software features during company-wide presentations; design and implement software solutions to collect, process, and visualize telemetry data; analyze software reliability and performance metrics, and implement optimizations to improve them; implement intelligent automations for mundane, repetitive tasks to reduce operating costs and human labor; and perform security analysis to identify potential weak links susceptible to unauthorized breaches or penetrations.
