Software Engineer

What We're Looking For

We are looking for a Software Engineer to join our team. This is a challenging and rewarding role that supports the technology side of our business strategies. Our developers work collaboratively with every department within Apex to improve the user experience, and make recommendations on technology changes.

Occasional onsite work will be required. For this reason candidates should live in Texas. Apex may offer a relocation for those wishing to relocate to the Dallas/Fort Worth area.

Education/Experience/Training

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent on-the-job experience.
• 2+ years development experience in a professional capacity
• Comfortable working with Java and Git in a team environment
• Passion for learning, reliability, automation, and continual improvement
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience with Oracle Database, Cockroach DB, Java, Spring Boot, JBoss, JavaScript, Angular, React, Git, Linux, Containers, Rancher, Ansible, and Bamboo preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, update, and improve existing applications
• Respond to application issues as they arise and resolve in a timely, considerate, and forward-thinking manner
• Partner with other software engineers, product owners, and business stakeholders to solve challenging business problems for our customers and employees
• Take initiative in a fast-paced Kanban environment, clarifying and improving requirements when necessary
• Provide meaningful code review and mentorship to other engineers
• Continue learning and stay up to date with modern development practices
