Overview:
Bay Systems Consulting is seeking a highly skilledSOC Software Engineerto support theLockheed Martin Orion Program, one of the most ambitious human spaceflight initiatives. In this hybrid role based inDenver, COorHouston, TX, you will play a critical role in maintaining and enhancing the systems used in Lockheed Martin’s Security Operations Center, ensuring mission-critical software and network reliability, performance, and security.
You’ll be part of a highly collaborative team working on sophisticated software in a Linux-based environment, contributing to systems integration, emulation, troubleshooting, and secure software development lifecycles.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and maintain SOC-related software usingC++andPython
• Engineer and debugmulti-threaded applicationssupporting SOC infrastructure
• Support integration and troubleshooting withemulation platforms, particularlyQEMU
• Analyze and improve network communication systems, with a focus onRUC/RF protocols
• Collaborate in aLinux development environmentfor building, testing, and deploying secure systems
• Contribute to thefull software development lifecycle: from requirements, design, and implementation to testing, deployment, and maintenance
• Interface with SOC operators and other engineering teams to troubleshoot and resolve software/system issues
• Support containerized application development and deployment
• Assist with integration and support for systems aligned with theOrion Program architecture
• Maintain a focus onsecurity, reliability, and system robustnessthroughout all development tasks
Required Qualifications:
• Extensive hands-on experience withC++
• Proficiency inPython scripting and development
• Strong experience developing and debuggingmulti-threaded applications
• Deep understanding ofnetwork protocols, especiallyRUC/RF-based systems
• Proficient in working within aLinux-based development environment
• Experience withsoftware debugging and troubleshootingacross complex systems
• Experience across thefull software development lifecycle (SDLC)
• Strong analytical and communication skills
Desired Qualifications:
• Experience withQEMUor similaremulation platforms
• Familiarity withemulator integrationand system-level troubleshooting
• Experience withcontainerization technologies(e.g., Docker, Podman)
• Knowledge of or prior work on theOrion Programor similar aerospace/defense systems
• Experience working in or supporting aSecurity Operations Center (SOC)or secure computing environments
Work Environment:
• Hybridrole: 3 days a week onsite at either theDenver, COorHouston, TXfacility
• Collaborative team setting supporting a high-impact, mission-critical spaceflight program
