Job Description:

As a Software Engineer, you will develop and manage foundational services that are critical to the success of the Engineering organization. You will design, build, test, deploy, and support what you and the team produce. You will partner with other engineering teams since these are foundational systems you will be developing in. Internal applications are built using a highly scalable microservice architecture that is deployed via containers to our cloud hosted various container orchestration environments.

Our platform is growing fast, and with that come opportunities to build highly scalable services. You will be expected to take ownership of projects and identify software design gaps. You'll tackle a variety of problems from scaling out infrastructure, to help design software and process patterns other teams can leverage via R&D. The primary focus of this role will be to design, develop, and maintain foundational services for Engineering. Every decision you make will be tied to moving the firm forward.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, test, and maintain services.
• With R&D time, explore technologies to provide patterns on how they might be used.
• Build for the cloud, in scalable, repeatable, and reliable manner.
• Improve the software development, and deployment process across the firm.
• Write automated unit, integration, and deployment tests
• Develop software defined infrastructure
• Design data models and persist data to relational and NoSQL databases.
• Automate deployments
• Identify opportunities to automate away repetitive tasks
• On-call for services developed and managed by the team.

Qualifications:

• An ability to design, develop, and test RESTful microservice in higher level language, such as C#, or Python.
• Possess object-oriented programming experience in C#, or Python, or other Object Oriented programming language.
• Have a desire to learn and adapt to new technologies

Nice to Have:

• Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, AWS
• Have SQL experience
• Experience in one or more of messaging, search, caching, automation and UI frameworks

Expected annual base salary range:

$100,000 - $130,000

Actual base salary within that range will be determined by several components including but not limited to the individual's experience, skills, qualifications and job location. For roles located outside of the US, please disregard the posted salary bands as these roles will follow a separate compensation process based on local market comparables.

Additional compensation: Base salary does not include other forms of compensation or benefits offered in connection with the advertised role.
