Software Engineer - Android - Ads

The mission for Nextdoor Ads is to become the must-buy local advertising platform. To fulfill this mission, the Ads Engineering organization is building next-gen Ads infrastructure. We are in the middle of several new projects spanning ads serving, advertiser facing frontends, ads formats, and measurement. This is a great time to join in the early stages of our transformation and have the chance for outsized contributions and ownership.

This role is on the Ads formats team, focused on the Android ads platform. Ads formats are how our users see and interact with ads. Innovating on ads formats lets us drive better advertiser outcomes as well as deliver a great experience to our users. We have exciting plans in this space, and are looking for Android experts to help us realize them.

We are looking for an Android super-star. Someone who can help build out a world-class client experience for our Android ads platform. The primary focus is on Android expertise, but if you have ads experience to add to the mix, that would be a plus.

Your responsibilities will include: 

• Own key parts of the Android components of our ads platform
• Innovate on ads formats, with a view to simplifying the existing ones, and create exciting new ones
• Drive Android ads performance, latency and quality
• Integrate with Google Ads Manager and with other third-party data systems

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience
• 5+ years of Android development experience with deep platform expertise
• An entrepreneurial mindset, and willingness to take ownership and drive projects
• Experience with working on an app available in the Google Store 
• Bonus: 2+ years of Ads domain experience

The starting salary for this role is expected to range from $150,000 to $250,000 on an annualized basis, or potentially greater in the event that your 'level' of proficiency exceeds the level expected for the role. Compensation may also vary by geography.

We also expect to award a meaningful equity grant for this role. With equal quarterly vesting, your first vest date would be within the first 3 months of your start date.

Overall, total compensation will vary depending on your relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
