Position Overview:
We are looking for a Software Architect who is interested in working in a fast-paced environment building and maintaining software products that run in a DevSecOps platform as a service (PaaS) for the US Navy. The successful candidate will develop and maintain multiple software applications in a few languages (Node, Python, Java, Go) that support mission applications modernizing combat systems on Navy surface ships. Our Software Architect will solve challenging problems for unique customers and have a direct impact on the direction of the software products and solutions used by those customers.
Responsibilities:
- Architect software which supports weapons systems on naval surface vehicles
- Work with a variety of languages (Python, Java, JavaScript, etc)
- Prepare software to be ready for different classification levels
- Ensure software is compliant with DoD policies
- Support backup and disaster recovery planning
- Work with the Cybersecurity team by implementing industry best practices for system hardening and configuration management
Requirements:
- Experience working with Combat or Real Time systems
- Experience with architecting software systems
- Experience with systems engineering
- Experience testing software
- Familiarity working within an Agile and DevSecOps environment
- Experience with Weapon Systems Operations, Command and Control Systems, Integrated Air and Missile Defense sensors, or Integrated Air and Missile Defense Weapons (Nice to have)
- Familiarity with System Modeling Language (SysML) (Nice to have)
