Job Summary
The Software Intern duties include working with the Product and Development teams to design, build and test software packages. We use Kotlin & Ruby.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 
Implement software solutions by writing code consistent with our coding standards and guidelines.
Test code to ensure that it is performing as expected.
Monitor for bugs in the code and provide fixes in a timely manner.
Comment and document code as appropriate and produce external documentation for more complex software components.

Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Experience developing software or algorithms based on predetermined specifications
Proficient with a JVM language like Java or Kotlin and an interpreted language like Ruby or Python
Attention to detail is a must
Good written and verbal communication skills
Design and implement features for a data science product
Ability to reproduce, diagnose, and fix bugs
Build unit tests covering your features and bug fixes
Solicit feedback about your features via design and code reviews and feature demos
Documentation updates related to your features

Compensation

The base pay range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to Qualifications, Geographical Location, Education/certifications, Experience, Skill Sets, Training, and other business and organizational needs. 

A reasonable estimate of the current range for interns is: $30 - $38 an hour AUD.
