Software Engineer - Backend

• 360-degree spending view across all your financial accounts(using Open banking)
• A free credit report with tips and guidance to help improve your credit score
• Personalized financial planning using a proprietary mix of automated algorithms and manual advice
• Intelligent lending products to help reduce cost of credit.
• Saving products that help users automate their savings.
  The engineering team at Updraft is a global one with engineers working from the UK, USA, Italy, Bulgaria with London as its HQ. We are expanding our team and given India’s contribution to tech in recent years, there can’t be a better place for us to build a team in and create wonders. Our current team is filled with ex tech CEOs and CTOs who have come together and built a state-of-the-art fin-tech product that helps thousands of people getting out of the painful debt cycle. With over half of our engineers having an academic background from world-class universities like University of Oxford, Imperial College London and University of Cambridge, we can’t wait to tap the Indian talent and build the best engineering team and culture out there.
  Responsibilites
  

• As a backend engineer at Updraft, you will design and build server-side components that run seamlessly with clients. You will also be involved in architectural improvements and make sure the efficiency of our code is always on point.
• You will build robust and scalable applications and features using internal and external APIs (such as Modulr, Truelayer, Checkout.com) that improve different aspects of existing lending products such as loan application, collections and payments.
• You will increase our operations efficiency by building internal tools that automate tasks and save 1000s of man hours.
• You will work with the data team to implement data driven changes and features such as pricing etc to our product.
• You will work alongside the front-end team and product team to build new features and products that will change the way people handle their personal finances.

• 1-2 years of hands-on experience in writing secure, efficient, high-quality Python code preferably using some API framework like Django/ Flask.
• Experience with technologies such as Cloud Computing (AWS / Google Cloud), Git, Docker, Postgres and other server-side technologies.
• The perfect addition to our team will have a curious brain with an exceptional ability to learn new technologies and skills. They would have some commercial experience working with python and strong knowledge of security practices, ideally with a slightly gray-hat background.
