Software Engineer, Backend

The Opportunity

We are seeking a Software Engineer, Backend to join our dynamic team. This role involves supporting the development, deployment, and management of our web services and related infrastructure. As a member of our talented Engineering team, you will work collaboratively across functions to devise solutions and deploy systems that meet the needs of end-user professionals and enterprise clients across various verticals.

Your Impact

• Utilize your hands-on experience in developing technology using Python.
• Build business logic with web frameworks such as Django and MySQL.
• Work with technologies including Nginx, Kafka, MySQL, Cassandra, Redis, and big data platforms.
• Write reusable, testable, and efficient code.

We're looking for someone who

• Has 2+ years of experience in developing and architecting large-scale web services.
• Holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Has experience with databases, distributed systems, and backend performance measurement and optimization.
• Is proficient in Python or other programming languages such as Go, Java, or C++.
• Has experience with web frameworks such as Django.
• Demonstrates capability with MySQL, Redis, Elasticsearch, Kafka, and Cassandra.
• Has a good understanding of database internals, including transactions and indexes, and experience in database schema design.
• Is familiar with working in AWS environments.
• Production server experience required.
• Operate with genuine curiosity, strong attention to detail and exceptional communication skills.

Nice to haves

• A good understanding of HTTP and networking.
• A good understanding of operating systems, particularly Linux.
• A Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.

Salary range

Salary Range: $136,000 to $185,000 USD per year.

This salary range represents the low and high end of the estimated salary range for this position. The actual base salary offered for the role is dependent on several factors. Our base salary is just one component of a comprehensive total rewards package.
