Software Engineer, Backend - Ad Demand Optimization, 7+ Years of Experience

Ad Demand Optimization team at Snap is looking for an experienced Software Engineer. The Ad Demand Optimization team is part of the Ad Ranking team, and focuses on driving advertiser ROI by optimizing how the advertiser is represented in Snap's ad auctions. The projects range from budget pacing, real-time bidding to developing new ad optimization strategies.
We're looking for a Backend Engineer to join Snap Inc!
What you'll do:

• Design and implement scalable algorithms that power the pacing and bidding optimization for Snap's ad products, with a focus on maximizing advertiser values
• Implement new ad solutions that cater to advertiser demand
• Drive initiatives and coordinate large projects that span across modeling, delivery and product teams
• Closely work with machine learning engineers, product managers and other teams to drive advertiser ROI with an end-to-end optimization mindset

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Experience in one of the following domains: auction, bidding, pacing, ad forecasting, ranking.
• Proficiency in Java and/or Python
• You can independently execute on medium sized features, taking a few weeks and multiple PRs to complete
• You understand the operational aspects of your system and may participate in incident or hotfix investigation and resolution
• Ability to collaborate and work well with others

Minimum Qualifications:

• BS/BA degree in a technical field such as Computer Science or equivalent years of experience
• 7+ years of software development experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge in one of the following areas: machine learning, optimization, data pipeline
• Product sense and experience designing and implementing new ad products
• Track record of delivering large XFN projects

Compensation
In the United States, work locations are assigned a pay zone which determines the salary range for the position. The successful candidate's starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These pay zones may be modified in the future.

• Zone A (CA, WA, NYC) : The base salary range for this position is $205,000 - 295,000 annually
• Zone B : The base salary range for this position is $195,000 - 280,000 annually
• Zone C : The base salary range for this position is $174,000 - 251,000 annually

This position is eligible for equity in the form of RSUs
