Team’s Mission / Work Responsibilities

Team mission:

To realize Mercari’s vision of leading the circular economy, we aim to provide new tools to businesses involved in the production and sale of products, adding value to the primary distribution value chain.

Specific work responsibilities include the following:

• Launching a new platform for the advertising business.
• Building and implementing the architecture for the advertising system.
• Improving and optimizing advertising performance.
• Developing mechanisms to streamline advertising operations.

Unique and Bold Challenges

• Launching an advertising solution on a media platform with over 20 million MAU (Monthly Active Users).
• Mercari currently does not offer advertising solutions. However, it is anticipated that if Mercari were to provide advertising solutions, it could have a significant impact on the Japanese advertising market.
• Taking a challenge on revolutionizing advertising beyond boundaries
• Advertising solutions are already available on many platforms, and there are numerous success stories. By leveraging the strengths of existing solutions, it is possible to provide an even better solution.

Required Qualifications

• Shared understanding and belief in our company’s mission and values
• Experience in developing and operating large-scale system, as well as experience in technology selection and codebase improvement
• Experience in API development using languages such as Go, PHP, Java, and more.
• Design and development capability with a focus on performance and scalability
• Experience in the development and operation of advertising systems

Preferred Qualifications

• Project management or team leadership experience
• Communication skills to collaborate with stakeholders and drive product development
• Experience in development and operations using Microservices architecture
• Knowledge and experience in databases (RDBMS/NoSQL), networking, Linux, monitoring systems, logging, operations, and SLO/SLA
• Experience in development in the cloud, particularly with GCP or AWS.

Employment Status

Full-time
