Software Engineer, Billing - Paris

Key responsibilities

• Billing System Integration: Work on integrating our products with the billing infrastructure, ensuring seamless functionality across offerings.
• Interconnection with External Systems: Develop and maintain interfaces between our systems and external platforms like Salesforce and third-party billing systems.
• Payment Mechanism Expertise: Analyze and incorporate key payment mechanisms such as VAT compliance, mobile billing (e.g., Play Store), direct invoicing, and payment synchronization with platforms like Stripe.
• Billing Processes: Ensure the accuracy and reliability of billing processes, taking into account synchronization challenges and reconciliation across systems.
• Scalability and Optimization: Continuously optimize the billing systems to scale with growing demands while ensuring accuracy and efficiency.

You may be a good fit if

• You hold a Master’s degree in Engineering or Computer Science.
• You have a proven experience in backend development (Python) and integrating with payment platforms (e.g., Stripe, PayPal).
• You have a strong understanding of billing concepts, including tax regulations, invoicing, and payment processing.
• You already worked on billing systems within large-scale SaaS environments, where custom-built billing solutions are often developed to meet complex needs.
• You are able to understand and address business challenges related to billing, such as compliance, reconciliation, and payment synchronization.
• You’re able to review code and system architectures with a security-first mindset, identifying risks and proposing solutions.
• You have strong communication skills to work cross-functionally with teams such as finance, sales, and external vendors to align on billing requirements.

Ideally you have

• Familiarity with Salesforce integrations or similar CRM platforms.
• Knowledge of global tax and compliance regulations impacting billing in SaaS businesses.
