Software Engineer, C++ Build Tools

We're looking for a Software Engineer to join Snap Inc!
What you'll do:

• Design, implement, and operate our most critical build and tooling infrastructure for software development
• Work across teams to understand performance requirements, evaluate trade-offs, and deliver the solutions needed to enhance the development experience
• Build strong tools foundations with an eye for technical excellence, allowing for rapid feature iteration/evolution
• Solve common development problems at scale throughout Snapchat (Build, Test, Deploy, CI/CD, IDE Experience)

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Strong fluency in C++
• Strong knowledge of build systems (eg. Bazel/Buck, CMake)
• Experience with large scale software development.
• Experience in the following areas:
  
  • IDEs and code indexing
  • CI/CD pipelines
  • Infrastructure and large-scale system design
  • Mobile testing infrastructure
  • Source control and artifact management
  • Developer focused internal tools
  • Experience with data visualization and analysis (e.g., Looker, BigQuery)
• Proven track record of operating highly-available systems at significant scale

Minimum Qualifications:

• BS/BA in a technical field such as Computer Science or equivalent experience
• 7+ years of experience working with systems implemented in modern C++, client or server

Preferred Qualifications:

• Advanced Degree in Computer Science or related field
• Fluency in at least one of the following programming languages: Python, Objective C, Swift, Java, Kotlin, and/or Go

Compensation:
In the United States, work locations are assigned a pay zone which determines the salary range for the position. The successful candidate's starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These pay zones may be modified in the future.

• Zone A (CA, WA, NYC) : The base salary range for this position is $205,000 - 295,000 annually
• Zone B : The base salary range for this position is $195,000 - 280,000 annually
• Zone C : The base salary range for this position is $174,000 - 251,000 annually

This position is eligible for equity in the form of RSUs
