Software Engineer C/C++

Verisign’s “ATLAS” platform implementation team is a high performing, agile team who builds horizontally scalable, high performance, and highly available systems. As part of the team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing new capabilities for this platform. You will writing software that helps enable the security, stability, and resiliency of the Domain Name System (DNS).

We’re looking for a mid-level software engineer who demonstrates:

Required Skills:

• Solid understanding of writing network services in C or C++
• Proven foundation in Computer Science fundamentals (data structures, algorithms, operating systems, object-oriented design)
• Experience building horizontally scalable, high performance, and highly available, distributed systems
• Proficient with Linux
• Outstanding problem solving and trouble-shooting skills
• Excellent teammate who enjoys a collaborative team environment

Relevant Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience
• 5+ years of relevant work experience in software development
• 3+ years of C++ or similar high-level programming language
• Working on an Agile software development team

Preferred Skills:

• Python
• DNS
• Familiarity with delivering via continuous integration and continuous delivery systems

This position is based in our Reston, VA office and offers a flexible, hybrid work schedule.

The pay range is $106,300 - $143,800. 

The anticipated annual base salary range for this position is noted above, however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience. Verisign offers a discretionary bonus which is based on individual and company performance, and certain roles may be eligible for discretionary stock awards.
