This position is eligible for a flexible work schedule arrangement at the present time. The arrangement may be delayed for training or other job acclimation purposes and remains subject to change.
Your Responsibilities
As a Software Engineer for World Headquarters located in Chicago, IL, you will:

• Operate within a full stack agile team and participate in all aspects of teams work of building out John Deere's Ecommerce applications and ensuring delivery adheres to the proposed architecture.
• Lead the team in technical practices such as selecting design solutions and leveraging industry standards such as SOLID principles and 12 Factor App for development practices within the team.
• Ensure high quality software through adherence to Test Driven Development (TDD) as the foundation of development and enabling CI/CD and DevSecOps practices.
• Provide Technical leadership, coaching and mentoring to team members within the product space.

What Skills You Need

• 3 or more years of proven experience in the design, development, testing and integration of high complex software solutions in Java8+ (ex: Platforms, Applications, API's) leveraging change management
• 3 or more years of experience with Java web development with Spring and RESTful APIs, Messaging services (Rabbit MQ, Kafka)
• 3 or more years of understanding of applications development environment, database, data management and infrastructure capabilities and constraints (MySQL, Postgres, MongoDB or other)
• 2 or more years of demonstrated experience in TDD, acceptance test-driven development and emerging design (Mockito, Spring Testing)
• 2 or more years of experience with DevOps principles and lean development such as Continuous Integration (e.g. GitHub) and Continuous Delivery (Jenkins, Docker, K8s etc.)
• 2 or more years of strong understanding of microservice architecture & knowledge of challenges related to building cloud-native apps.

What Makes You Stand Out

• Demonstrated experience in an Agile/Scrum team environment
• Working understanding of design patterns and loosely coupled architectures
• Experience in cloud development with platforms like AWS or Azure
• Modern web application development experience using React and Node.
• Experience collaborating with multiple business stakeholders to provide information technology solution

Education
Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:

• Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent experience in a related career.
