Software Engineer, Compensation

• As Lattice grows, how do we build a Compensation platform that will scale with the business?
• How do we strategically decouple the Compensation product from Lattice’s broader platform to better suit our technology needs?
• How do we leverage data from our Compensation product to provide insights for organizations to drive meaningful impact for employees?

• Proactively identify opportunities to rapidly prototype solutions for a series of 0 to 1 products while defining a foundation that can accelerate future prototyping and full-fledged products.
• Influence and drive alignment in large scale projects, directly impacting business outcomes.
• Drive impact - through communication, mentorship, planning, execution, implementation, and outcomes.

• You have 7+ years of professional experience writing and maintaining production-level applications.
• You’ve worked with a modern programming language like JavaScript, Ruby, Python, etc.
• You’re no stranger to SQL—you know how to efficiently model data and write performant queries in a relational database like PostgreSQL.
• You know the ins-and-outs of maintaining and scaling an application actively serving customers in production.

• You work well with designers and product managers to come up with novel solutions. 
• You enjoy taking an active role in the development process, have experience leading large-scale initiatives, and strive to continuously improve engineering practices.
• You love mentoring and supporting other software engineers of varying experience levels
• You have experience leading planning and executing complex projects with a high degree of ambiguity
• You make the engineering team more effective through the pragmatic application of useful code tools and patterns.

The Compensation team is focusing on developing solutions to bring transparency and simplicity when it comes to compensation. The team is responsible for developing products enabling employees, managers, and admins to have a better understanding of what compensation means for individuals, departments, and the company. 

• You’ll work within a cross-functional team partnering together from ideation to developing proof of concepts and ultimately launching a product for our customers.
• You'll work with other engineers to develop creative solutions to challenges building 0 to 1 products or iterating on a mature product to make it more scalable and maintainable
• As a leader, you'll collaborate closely leadership to ensure we are gathering requirements correctly, staffing the team with complimentary skills, and building a strategy that enables quick iteration
• You’ll work with other engineers to build and own products across a modern tech stack. Our current stack includes React, Relay Modern, GraphQL, Node, and PostgreSQL. We rely on AWS to host our infrastructure.
• You’ll provide substantial mentorship to less experienced colleagues, helping to refine their technical craft and expand their knowledge.
• You’ll make contributions to our engineering practices, identifying and evangelizing improvements to improve our team output.
