As a Software Engineer within PNC's Retail Technology organization you will be based in Pittsburgh PA Strongsville OH Dallas TX Birmingham AL Phoenix AZ or Denver CO.
As a Software Engineer you will play a critical role in designing developing and maintaining scalable high‑quality software solutions. This role requires deep technical expertise strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross‑functional teams.
Key Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Design develop test and maintain reliable scalable and secure software applications
- Take ownership of complex features or systems from design through deployment and support
- Contribute to architectural decisions and technical strategy
- Write clean efficient and well‑documented code following best practices
- Collaborate with product managers designers QA and other stakeholders to deliver solutions aligned with business needs
- Troubleshoot debug and resolve production issues
- Continuously evaluate and improve system performance reliability and maintainability
Candidates must have the following proficiencies:
- Strong proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g. Java Python C# JavaScript Go)
- Experience building and consuming APIs and working with distributed systems
- Solid understanding of data structures algorithms and software design principles
- Experience working in Agile or Scrum development environments
- Strong debugging problem‑solving and analytical skills
Preferred:
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS Azure or GCP)
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines automated testing and DevOps practices
- Experience with microservices or event‑driven architectures
