Software Engineer (Cyber Ops)
Job Description
Responsibilities
- Write and test product or system development code.
- Participate in, or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies.
- Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).
- Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/program updates and user feedback.
- Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (Java, Python, etc.), or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.
- 2 years of experience with data structures or algorithms.
- Experience with developing and using APIs, e.g. Java, Python and REST APIs
- Experience to develop and deploy applications using Kubernetes, Docker, Helm etc, preferably on AWS.
- Development experience in Continuous Integration and Continuous Development (CI/CD), e.g. Github, Terraform, Jenkins
- Experience with Federated Query and Big Data technologies such as Apache Spark.
- Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields.
- 2 years of experience building developer tools that improve developer velocity, code quality and code health (e.g., compilers, automated releases, code design and testing, test automation frameworks).
- Experience developing accessible technologies.

About the Team The Cybersecurity & Technology Controls group at JPMorgan Chase aligns the firm's cybersecurity, access management, controls and resiliency teams. The group proactively and strategically partners with all lines of business and functions to enable them to design, adopt and integrate appropriate controls; deliver processes and solutions efficiently and consistently; and drive automation of controls. The group's number one priority is to enable the business by keeping the firm safe, stable and resilient.
High Risk Roles (HRR) are sensitive roles within the technology organization that require high assurance of the integrity of staff by virtue of 1) sensitive cybersecurity and technology functions they perform within systems or 2) information they receive regarding sensitive cybersecurity or technology matters. Users in these roles are subject to enhanced pre-hire screening which includes both criminal and credit background checks (as allowed by law). The enhanced screening will need to be successfully completed prior to commencing employment or assignment.
