Our technology stack includes GO, Python, Linux, Kubernetes, Rest API’s, AWS, SQL, and Snowflake. We’re building systems for Boingo’s next-generation data platform.

In this role you’ll support Boingo’s business from analyzing network traffic at large venues like the World Trade Center, Dodger Stadium, Soldier Field, and JFK Airport; to gathering business performance metrics for our Finance and Business Development teams. In this important position, you’ll have a big impact on Boingo. We need someone with engineering and problem-solving skills, to develop systems that are robust and extensible. What does the job entail? 

• Develop leading data ingestion technology using GO 
• Develop data tables that support business questions and provide actionable insights to Boingo’s challenges 
• Develop, maintain, and consume APIs 
• Develop solutions for complex problems within broadly defined practices and policies, recommending best methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria 
• Design, develop and test feature enhancements to meet business requirements then package the changes or additions for release, including implementation instructions
• Work with QA team to define test plans; assist in testing related activities (planning, debugging, and problem resolution) as needed
• Make recommendations regarding development processes, etc.
• Maintain and manage test, build and staging environments, acting as key front-line contact with internal Quality Assurance and Engineering Departments for on-going testing of software interface
• Assist senior engineers with architectural related tasks

 Got what it takes?

• Excellent engineering and problem-solving skills, coupled with discretion and sound independent judgment
• Self-motivation and discipline - the ability to work as a team member with other in-house and external developers
• Multi-discipline experience is key with at least two of the following:
  • Expertise in Data platforms and ingestion, minimum of 3 years
  • GO development experience, minimum of 2 years
  • Node.js experience minimum of 4 years
  • Python development experience, minimum of 2 years
• Strong relational data modeling skills
• Good computer science fundamentals including data structures, algorithm design, concurrency issues, and performance assessment
• Experience with Git
• Demonstrated expertise with Linux platforms
