Software Engineer - Data Platform

Now we’re looking for an experienced Software Engineer for our Data group in Cato.
This role requires you to be a critical part of the data teams that build Cato Data Platform.  

The position is based in Prague, and requires 3 days in the office per week.

Responsibilities: 

• End-to-end development of company massive data infrastructures. 
• Researching new technologies and adapting them for use in the company’s product 
• Working closely with the product, DevOps, SRE, and Security teams

Requirements:

• 8+ years of experience with massive large-scale data systems platforms 
• Mastering data design principles - Data Modeling, Streaming vs Batch processing, Distributed Messaging 
• Deep understanding of Object-Oriented Programming and software engineering principles  
• Expertise in Java or/and Go programming languages
• Hands-on experience with design and development production of large-scale distributed systems with an emphasis on performance 
• Motivated fast independent learner and great at problem-solving  
• A team player with excellent collaboration and communication skills.
• Expertise in data technologies: Storm, Spark, Kafka, SQS, AWS Iceberg, AWS Athena - Advantage
• Familiarity with no-SQL DBs and relational DBs:  Elasticsearch, MySQL, Clickhouse, Redis - Advantage
• Experience with microservices, k8s - Advantage
• BSc. in Computer Science from a known university - Advantage
