Software Engineer, Data Platform

Title: Software Engineer, Data Platform 

Location:  San Francisco, Seattle, Washington DC, New York 

Terms:  Full-Time/Permanent

Travel:  Not Required

You will take complex problems, collaborate with others to design solutions and build simple, secure, lightweight systems and services with an eye toward future scalability. Responsibilities:

• Contribute to the architecture and design of backend services, create technical specifications, and write code
• Collaborate with engineers from the web, mobile and data science teams to build clean and well-documented APIs that drive a fast & highly relevant user experience
• Promote strong collaboration with cross-functional teams to drive the vision of our Premise SaaS offerings forward 
• Dive deep and learn new technologies related to location-based data and geospatial technologies, machine learning for developing fraud prevention strategies, or building scalable pipelines for petabytes of data

Basic Qualifications: 

• 5+ years of experience with software development  (Scala, Java, C#, or Python)
• Experience with relational databases
• Demonstrated proficiency with data structures, algorithms and distributed computing
• Professional experience building scalable, performant mission-critical software
• Solid understanding of communication protocols and experience building APIs
• Experience with developing for the cloud (GCP, AWS, or Azure.)

Preferred Qualifications: 

• 2+ years of Scala experience
• 2+ years of functional programming experience
• Experience with relational data model design
•  Experience with microservice architectures
•  Experience with GCP
