Design Systems Engineers are integral members of our organization. They are responsible for building tools to accelerate the front-end feature development of our product teams. They partner closely with designers, product team engineers and product leaders, helping to provide subject matter expertise, support and feedback to the systems' internal customers. They are creative engineering professionals at their core and are proficient in modern front-end tools, technologies and approaches. This position requires a commitment to exceptional results, a strong desire for growth & continuous improvement and the ability to build strong relationships with a multi-discipline team.

In this role, you will:

• Collaborate with designers and engineers to build and maintain a library of reusable components with TypeScript, JavaScript, React, CSS and more
• Enable our engineering and design customers by contributing to and maintaining useful and relevant documentation
• Partner with engineering teams to support consumption of the design system components
• Mentor other Design System Engineers on the team
• Build and maintain tools to increase team efficiency, reliability and quality
• Determine ways to align with emerging standards while promoting best practices and pushing the limits of what's possible
• Evangelize the efforts of the design system's modular components to the engineering community and stakeholders

We're looking for:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, technology, or design-related field or equivalent experience
• At least 3 years of experience writing elegant, maintainable and performant production-level code in JavaScript/TypeScript
• Proficient in writing semantic, compliant and accessible HTML
• Proficient understanding of component-based architecture using React
• Proficient in writing modular and maintainable CSS
• Experience turning mockups into responsive, accessible and performant code
• Experience delivering working components published via NPM
• Experience with JavaScript testing libraries for unit, integration and end to end testing
• Experience writing code in native mobile for iOS and Android a plus
• Strong communication skills with an ability to collaborate with Engineers and Designers
• Familiarity with CSS-in-JS a plus
• Familiarity working in an agile software development environment working on/with cross functional teams to deliver a product user experience
• Able to effectively communicate development techniques with the team and stakeholder

This role can be performed from any office in the US. The pay range for this position is $75,000 - $146,189/yr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This position is eligible for an annual restricted stock unit grant based on individual performance in addition to a full range of benefits outlined here. This information is provided per the relevant state and local pay transparency laws for the location in which this position will be performed. Base pay information is based on market location.
