We are seeking a Software Engineer to join our Systems & Technology team within the Human Services business unit in our Princeton, NJ; Washington, DC; Cambridge, MA; or Chicago, ILoffices, or working remotely. We are open to candidates with at least three years of experience creating data-driven websites using Drupal or similar technologies, as well as contributing to web development in HTML/CSS and JavaScript/jQuery. You will collaborate with project teams and will be self-driven to learn, push new ideas, and teach others.

Position Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or similar field, or equivalent experience
• 3+ years of web design and development experience
• A combination of equivalent education and work experience may be substituted for the above requirements
• Experience with Drupal 8 and 9 or similar technologies
• Experience with PHP, TWIG, JavaScript, jQuery, HTML, CSS, and the LAMP stack in general
• Experience using Git for source control.
• Proficiency with Composer
• Experience working in a Linux environment and strong command line experience
• Experience troubleshooting performance issues (such as MySQL slow query log, load time analysis, xdebug/xdebug profiler, JavaScript debugging browser tools)
• Solid knowledge base of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) (including requirements, design, implementation, and testing)
• Analytical approach to problem-solving
• Team-oriented mindset
• Strong communication skills
• Creative thinker

Nice-to-Have Skills:

• Experience with relational databases
• Drupal custom module development experience
• Experience with MySQL and query optimization
• Experience with AJAX, JSON, XML, and RESTful web services
• A research background

This position offers an anticipated annual base salary range of $70,000 - $100,000. This position may be eligible for an annual bonus, based on company and individual performance.

Various federal agencies with whom we contract require that staff successfully undergo a background investigation or security clearance as a condition of working on the project. If you are assigned to such a project, you will be required to obtain the requisite security clearance.
