Software Engineer for Test

swXtch.io is currently seeking a Software Engineer for Test to assist in developing, building, and deploying tools and tests to validate our solutions across all major public clouds (AWS, Azure , GCP). If you are a technologist who enjoys working on new technologies in a challenging, fast-paced environment, this is a perfect opportunity for you!

You will have the opportunity to apply that experience and knowledge to support our engineering team as we build new products and new systems. You will work on multiple projects that span all major public clouds.  You will also work closely with the Engineering teams to develop internal tools and QA and test systems. This role will also require you to work with our Engineering team to maintain critical operational systems.

We are looking for someone that is a high energy self-starter, who is intellectually curious, not afraid to be hands-on, and eager to contribute every single day. Experience with cloud infrastructure in one or more of the major public clouds (AWS, Azure, GCP) is desired. If this sounds like you, join us!

This is a remote role located in the US. 

Tools We Use:

• Python and Bash for scripting (Go experience is a plus)
• Ansible
• Terraform (Experience with Terraform strongly preferred)
• CI/CD Pipeline (TeamCity/Jenkins): github actions

What You’ll Do:

• Work closely within the Test and QA team to support the design, automation, deployments of development environments, infrastructure, and middleware
• Develop testing infrastructure needed to test our applications across major cloud providers
• Develop tests for edge cases, performance, stress testing, and component integration
• Implement an infrastructure as code model with automation and monitoring
• Design cloud infrastructure with a focus on AWS, GCP, and Azure using industry best practices
• Design, implementation, and support infrastructure automation utilizing standardized tooling and processes
• Research new cloud technologies and prototype solutions that can be leveraged to decrease costs and increase performance

You Are:

• 5 years of relevant experience
• Technical experience in building infrastructure and applications for elasticity, resiliency, and recoverability
• 2 years of experience with Linux operating systems (RHEL, Ubuntu)
• 2 years of experience with cloud infrastructure technologies (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
• Strong experience with Terraform and Terraform Cloud
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as TeamCity and Jenkins
• Experience with test design patterns
• 1 year of experience automating infrastructure in a cloud environment, including the use of Git to automate workflow of code from development to production

Bonus Points:

• Bilingual (English + Spanish)
• Experience with network programming (IP Multicast, TCP, etc.)
