Founded in 1986, Biscom pioneered the enterprise fax server and secure fax marketplaces with FAXCOM® and its award-winning fax management solutions. Biscom has expanded its secure document delivery platform with cloud secure file transfer for large files, real time synchronization, file translation, and mobile access. And now, with a fresh round of PE investment from ParkerGale Capital, the Biscom team is looking to aggressively ramp our growth ambitions. That's where you come in.

The Software Engineer will solve business problems by analyzing needs, designing solutions, and writing code. You'll work with your colleagues in engineering, project management, and design to build and maintain attractive, intuitive web applications using Angular.

What You'll Accomplish - Your Performance Objectives

Objective #1

In your first 30 days:

• Check out current source code repositories and configure your local web and API development environments.
• Pair with a team lead to accelerate your on-boarding process.
• Deliver your first bug fix in our Angular code base and participate in our code review process.
• Submit your first pull request to a current git repository and participate in the code review process established by the engineering team.

Objective #2

In your first 3 months:

• Create a new front-end feature, collaborating with the design and product team to go from requirements to a great UX.
• Develop new unit tests using for your Angular solutions.
• Perform code review of peers' code.
  • Establish ownership and responsibility for entire lifecycle of Angular, HTML, and CSS code: development, test, production, and subsequent fixes and improvements.

Objective #3

In your first 6 months:

• Create improvements to the web development experience at Biscom by enhancing development tools, test coverage, and code structure.

Technical Skills: You are focused on Angular, HTML, CSS, and other web technologies.

• 5+ years expertise with front end development using Angular. (Will consider other front-end frameworks with JS and TypeScript experience).
• Knowledge of UI/UX design and best practices. Good eye for design with customer facing applications.
• Knowledge of multiple front-end languages and libraries (e.g. HTML/ CSS, JavaScript, XML, jQuery).
• Some experience with C# / .NET development, ideally being comfortable working with ASP.NET Core.
• Familiar with back-end architecture/design patterns. (Databases, Web Servers, MVC, etc.).
• Basic understanding of unit testing and Software QA best practices.
• Good understanding of application security and regulatory compliance (PII, PHI and/or HIPAA etc.)

Design Skills: You will be collaborating with technical and not technical team members to flesh out UX. You will have a good eye for design, being able to "think like a user" when implementing a new feature.
