Software Engineer (Full-stack)

Profluent is currently seeking a creative, passionate, and detail-oriented Software Engineer (Full-stack). The candidate will develop, deploy, and scale Profluent’s data information platform. As an early employee, you will be empowered to make critical decisions about the frontend and backend frameworks and cloud-based data infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Develop user-facing applications to give scientists access to custom-built software
• Develop automated, cloud-based workflows to perform ETL of experimental data from various sources
• Build scalable cloud pipelines for analysis of Illumina sequencing datasets (NGS)
• Develop intuitive and interactive data visualizations
• Design and implement relational database models
• Work closely with experimental and computational biologists to perform user-testing
• Clearly document code and communicate outcomes to colleagues

Qualifications

• BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or a related field
• 5+ years experience in full-stack web development
• Track record of building intuitive and scalable web applications and backend infrastructure from scratch
• Experience with at least one web based development framework (Django, React)
• Experience with relational or NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, BigQuery)
• Experience with cloud computing (GCP preferred)
• Fluent in Python data analysis tools (numpy, pandas, Jupyter notebook, biopython)
• Experience with Linux environments and version control (git)
• Pays attention to detail, highly organized, and excels in a fast-paced work environment
