Software Engineer, Full Stack (Senior)

The Team: 

As an experienced Software Engineer focusing on our Risk platform, you will work closely with risk managers and engineers to build our suite of static and real-time risk services. You will tackle non trivial problems that will challenge you to flex your system design muscles, balance trade offs, and implement clean efficient code. As a voice of experience in the team, you will help mentor and lead teammates, evolve our technical standards and best practices, and further our culture of system designs.

Full Stack Software Engineer Characteristics:

As a Full Stack Software Engineer, you will design, build, and maintain APIs, services, and systems for both external and internal products. You will be challenged to deliver an unparalleled user experience and elegant GUIs. You will iterate rapidly on features, tooling, and processes as we launch the first versions of new products. Your passion for being a stack-generalist while dreaming up innovative experiences will drive the development of core product features. 

• You’ve built a solid foundation in Computer Science. 
• You move deftly across the stack; from designing and implementing scalable distributed systems to writing performant User Interfaces. 
• You have contributed to systems that deliver solutions to complex business problems that handle massive amounts of data. You are drawn towards scale, distributed systems, and associated technologies.
• You deliver great products and are knowledgeable around both Back-End and Front-End development that goes into building an application.
• You are familiar with Auth systems like SSO and entitlement systems.
• You build, debug, and test complex systems in a team environment.
• You enjoy learning and exploring new frameworks, component libraries, and tools. You invest in yourself.
• You have good communication skills to mediate between Product Managers, stakeholders and design. 

Requirements:

• You have 5+ years of professional experience implementing highly scalable services (we implement our code in Java & Golang (Go), but you may have experience in other strongly typed languages).
• Strong knowledge of data stores in SQL, NoSQL and caching solutions like Postgres, Elastic, Redis respectively.
• Experience in Real-Time streaming of data in both, the backend and the frontend like gRPC streaming, websockets, etc.
• Experience in UI technologies like React, TypeScript, JavaScript, NPM, NextJS etc.
• You have contributed to systems that deliver solutions to complex business problems that handle massive amounts of data. You are drawn towards scale, distributed systems, and associated technologies.
• You prioritize end user experience and it shows in your APIs design, functionality, and performance to write code that ages well.
• You have a strong command over object-oriented design patterns, data structures, and algorithms.
• You communicate technical ideas with ease and always look to collaborate to deliver high quality products.
• Your experience will help you mentor team members, define our engineering standards, and drive a system design approach to building new services.
