Job Description

The ProcessOut Engineering team is responsible for maintaining and evolving a Payment Orchestration Platform. While we have multiple teams in ProcessOut responsible for different business areas, the role we are currently looking to fill is hosted in our Platform team. This team consists of Software Engineers and Infrastructure Engineers working together to build a core infrastructure and application platform for our merchants and other product teams to use. Quality and uptime are our top priorities.

We are hosted in AWS, use EKS and our primary development language is Go. As we always strive to use the best tool for the job, we use a combination of Redis, DynamoDB, CockroachDB and Postgres for the persistence layer, and REST, gRPC and queues for communication. 

We are experiencing constant growth in the number of handled transactions, new clients and integrations. That’s why we pay very close attention to the elegant design and scalability of the platform. We are looking for a self-motivated engineer who enjoys building tools for end users and internal teams. This person should also enjoy collaborating with external teams while solving complex problems. What you will be doing

• Working together with other backend engineers and DevOps engineers on scaling our platform.
• Contributing to services and overall architecture by discussing, putting forward ideas on enhancements and actively contributing to our codebases.
• Cooperating with the Product team on designing, building and releasing new features.

Qualifications

• 3 years of software development experience, including at least 1 year with Go
• Know your way around the web-related tech (HTTP, TLS, proxies, API conventions...)
• Worked with RESTful APIs and with gRPC
• Experience deploying applications as a part of a service-oriented architecture
• Curious and unafraid of digging deeper to understand how systems of all kinds work
