Software Engineer I

Location: This position can be located from a home-based office in the USA, CST/EST time zone preferred.

Position Summary:

Bentley Systems is looking for a talented Software Engineer to join our iModelHub team to help design and develop microservices which are at the core of iTwin Platform. Bentley's iTwin Platform is an open, scalable cloud platform that provides APIs and services to help developers create digital twin applications for project teams and owner-operators to create, visualize, and analyze digital twins of infrastructure assets.

As part of the team, you will take part in all development stages: from the design and development of microservices using Node.js and/or .Net, deployment of containers to Kubernetes to proactively monitoring the service availability

What you will do:

• Design, develop and deploy microservices with a focus on high availability, low latency, and scalability
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines
• Own feature development end-to-end: from design to release
• Collaborate closely with other engineers, engineering teams and become a valued member of a multi-functional team
• Develop microservices using the following tech stack: Node.js, .Net, Docker, Kubernetes, TypeScript, C#, SQLite
• Communicate and resolve issues with API consumers (internal or external)

Who you are:

• BSc or MSc in Computer Science, Software Engineer or in related technical field
• You have experience with one or more general purpose programming languages, including but not limited to: C#, TypeScript, C++
• You are interested in keeping up with current standard methodologies in your areas of expertise
• You have a good understanding of data structures and algorithms, and understand how to apply them to devise pragmatic solutions
• You're familiar with designing and building distributed and scalable systems, and public facing APIs for them
• You are comfortable working with modern infrastructure and tools
• You know and care about sound engineering practices like continuous delivery, defensive programming, and automated testing
• Requires sitting or standing at will while performing work on a computer. The role requires communication with managers, peers and other colleagues of the company in person, and by utilizing Microsoft Teams chat, calling and meeting functions.
• This role does not require travel.
