  Software Engineer SWE1

• We are building applications automating internal and customer workflows, including a migration factory to facilitate seamless migration from one data platform to the other.
  

Software Engineer SWE1 under this role:

• Will be part of our product development team, which develops and supports tools used internally and by our customers every day.
• Will be working for the success of the phData Toolkit, mainly focussing on the SQL Translation Tool - a SQL compiler/transpiler for translating SQL and procedural languages from one dialect to another.

• Writes quality application code using Java
• Develops, maintains, and troubleshoots SQL conversion packages
• Gathers, analyzes, and writes quality code to translate SQL, procedures, functions, etc. 
• Develops and maintains unit, integration, and system tests
• Work with and build REST, Thrift, and other APIs
• Work closely with other developers in Git, reviewing and receiving code reviews
• Iterate and improve ideas

Basic Qualifications:

• 2 to 4 years of experience working as a Java developer, including spring framework
• Good knowledge of relational database management systems (RDBMS), SQL and database concepts
• Experience writing and debugging SQL queries and stored procedures
• Ability to learn and analyze new SQL functions, dialects, and procedural languages
• Ability to understand and debug existing Java code
• Ability to learn and apply new concepts and technologies

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Desire to learn other products and technology stacks 

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with software build tools such as Gradle or Maven
• Experience working on a database migration project 
• A college degree, preferably BE or MCA
