Software Engineer II

Everbridge is seeking an Intermediate Full Stack Software Engineer to join our New Zealand remote team. You will develop new applications and features to Everbridge Suite, a critical event management platform that keeps employees safe and business running.

Our tech stack is diverse, and you will work in an autonomous team responsible for the entire stack of the software. We welcome engineers who are eager to learn and grow while embracing new challenges. While the project primarily utilizes Python and React/Typescript, we encourage candidates with experience in other technologies to apply.

What You'll Do:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, test, and deploy high-quality applications and APIs.
• Assist in technical discussions and contribute insights to enhance architecture, scalability, and performance.
• Develop using modern technologies (Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, React) 
• Develop using modern platform cloud technologies (Serverless, AWS) 
• Contribute to the development of DevOps automations(Terraform, Gitlab CI/CD)
• Participate in code reviews, learn from feedback, and provide constructive feedback.
• Participate in maintenance and troubleshooting of the system. 

What You'll Bring:

• 2+ years of experience as a professional software engineer.
• Proven experience in a cloud-based deployment environment (e.g. AWS, Azure, GCP) 
• Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience.
• A strong foundation in software development principles and practices.
• Eagerness to learn and take on new challenges.
• Ability to work independently and remotely while also working closely with team members and collaborating with other teams. 

Bonus If:

• Familiarity with large codebases or enterprise-grade software 
• Experience working with Java. 
• Experience working in an Agile, CI/CD environment. 
• Experience with AWS (e.g. Lambda, API Gateway, Dynamo DB, VPC, IAM, etc.) 
• Experience with containerization (Kubernetes, Docker) 
• Experience with API integration and HRIS.
