General Summary:

Software Engineer 2 are responsible for the building and/or configuration of software solutions within their business portfolio with little to no oversight and exhibit a mastery of the application and technical skillset subject matter expertise for their area of responsibility. They ensure software is delivered to high quality standards by collaborating with their agile team members and by leveraging unit testing and continuous integration. They are able to accurately estimate work required to deliver software features. They use critical thinking skills applied to solution design and implementation for the delivery of business value. The Software Engineer 2 role may mentor Software Engineers and Associate Software Engineers.

Front-End Developer

Responsibilities -

  • Working with clients to develop the overall look and design of a website
  • Writing website code with programming languages such as ASP.Net, React, Angular, HTML, JavaScript/TypeScript
  • Enable digital analytics capabilities on digital assets via Data Layer approach
  • Enable A/B tests and multi-variant tests on both Web & Mobile App assets
  • Shows evidence of analytical ability
  • Producing, maintaining, and modifying websites and user interfaces
  • Responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of new and existing features for the existing portfolio of applications for a business area
  • Responsible for communication and collaboration with key stakeholders in the delivery of features
  • Incorporating components, graphics, audio, and video clips into client websites
  • Knowledge of Agile Development Methodologies
  • Self-motivated and results oriented
  • Takes an innovative approach to problem solving
  • Demonstrates good oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong team player; able to work effectively within a team and more broadly with people from a variety of backgrounds and areas across the organization.

Preferred Skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree in computer science is preferred, or equivalent relevant business experience
  • 3+ Years of Front-End development experience is preferred
  • Proficient in using HTML5, JavaScript and CSS to produce progressive and responsive user interfaces for the web.
  • Experience with React framework is must.
  • Understands principles of User Experience (UX) design and can apply these principles to front end development.
  • Experience with GIT for source code management.
  • Proficiency with programming languages such as C#, TypeScript and JavaScript
  • Understanding of key website design principles and SEO optimization
  • Ability to use client input to create functional, creative, and user-friendly webpages
  • Ability to test and debug websites
  • Analytical and detail-oriented
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Advanced problem-solving skills
  • Observant and able to remain focused on tasks for long periods of time

The base salary range for applicants for this position is listed below. Unless actual salary is indicated above in the job description, actual pay will be based on skill, geographical location and experience.

$80,600.00-$153,200.00

Additionally, Unum offers a portfolio of benefits and rewards that are competitive and comprehensive including performance-based incentives, healthcare benefits, insurance benefits, paid time off, and a 401(k) retirement plan with an employer match up to 5% and an additional 4.5% contribution whether you contribute to the plan or not. All benefits are subject to the terms and conditions of individual plans.
