Software Engineer II

Job Summary:

As a Software Engineer II, you are responsible for developing high-quality applications, making effective design choices, and communicating expected technical standards. You will work to ensure the application/system health, strive for minimal defects and downtime, and be willing to support the solutions in production by participating in on-call rotation.

What You'll Do:

• Work closely with multiple teams from product, design, and other engineering teams
• Building software with teams, brainstorming solutions and communicating technical ideas and issues with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Optimize application performance, security, and stability through testing, monitoring, and debugging
• Ability to own large features from design to implementation
• Lead detailed code reviews and provide constructive feedback to teammates

What You Need to Have:

Required:

• 3+ years of professional Software Engineering or other relevant experience
• Extensive hands-on experience in ReactJS, JavaScript(ES6+), TypeScript, Node or similar
• Familiarity with code versioning tools
• Experience developing applications from scratch. Experience building APIs, data-driven applications, and/or other similar solutions
• Experience working with any design libraries (Material, Tailwind, Bootstrap)
• Local to LA, CHI, or CLT in order to be onsite a couple days a week for a hybrid work schedule

Preferred:

• Experience with Scrum, Test-Driven Development, and Continuous Deployment
• Experience with container deployments with Docker
• Understanding of GraphQL, Apollo Client, Axios, Next.js, etc.
• Web automation testing tools like Jest, Cypress
• Cloud platforms - AWS preferred, GCP, Azure
• Experience using Virtualized hosting, management, and delivery (Docker, Kubernetes)
• CI/CD (CircleCI, Gitlab CI, Jenkins, etc.)
• Experience working with databases(MySQL or PostgreSQL)
