SonderMind is a VC-backed digital health company redesigning behavioral health through covered and timely access, increased utilization, and data-validated quality outcomes. We are a team of Explorers, Builders, and Change Makers democratizing the complicated world of behavioral healthcare for therapists and clients alike.
How you'll make an impact
  • You will bring world class back end development skills to maintain and replace our existing web portals and build new experiences for our internal and external users.
  • You will have a keen eye for detail and ensure efficiency, re-usability, and consistency for all components you create.
  • You will be able to make an immediate impact on architecture and implementation decisions with the team.
  • You will drive and participate in design sessions as well as constantly evaluate technologies and trends to be leveraged to optimize our platform.
  • You will work in a team alongside front end & back end developers, QA/SDETs, UI/UX designers, scrum masters and product owners to ensure the best possible product is released on schedule

  • Writes maintainable code and tests.
  • Scope and implements project-level solutions with minimal guidance.
  • Consistently follows best practices, able to defend technical decisions in code review feedback.
  • Provides helpful, timely code reviews.
  • Contributes to technical design, and thinks through failure cases.
  • Understands how code fits into broader technical context.
  • Debugs effectively within their primary area to help find root cause
  • Collaborate with teammates and stakeholders to deliver a solid product

What you'll do
  • Develop features and improvements that make our product more meaningful to end users
  • Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and other stakeholders to maintain a high bar for quality in a fast-paced, interactive environment
  • Craft high quality code that meets our internal standards for style, maintainability, and best practices. Maintain and advocate these standards through code review.
  • Consistently ship features and improvements with minimal guidance and support from other team members. Collaborate with the team on larger projects.
  • Compile and analyze data, processes, and codes to troubleshoot problems and identify areas for improvement

Required Experience
  • 2-4 years of back end software development experience
  • Knowledge of Ruby on Rails and Postgres SQL
  • Ability to clearly and concisely communicate about complex technical, architectural, and/or organizational problems and propose thorough, iterative solutions
  • Proven ability to work closely with other Engineers, Product Managers, and other stakeholders

Preferred Experience
  • Experience with Javascript, Elastic Search, or AWS
  • SaaS product company experience
  • Degree in Computer Science or related

Our Benefits
The anticipated salary range for this role is $85,000- $105,000. This role is eligible to participate in our equity incentive plan. Actual compensation is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
