Job Description

As a Software Engineer II at Frost, you will:

Be responsible for designing, writing, testing, implementing, supporting, and documenting solutions for assigned programs and applications across the organization.

Responsibilities will include:

• Planning, implementing, configuring and supporting banking applications; responding to, troubleshooting, and resolving complex banking application issues; performing root cause analysis, establishing return to service, and documenting resolution strategies; collaborating with other IT teams, management, and lines of business to provide troubleshooting assistance for banking applications.
• Design, write, test, implement, and document solutions for assigned program modules.
• Support assigned IT systems/applications by troubleshooting and resolving defects.
• Provide technical advice to project teams and support to other Software Engineers as necessary.
• Collaborate with and provide technical advice to Product Owners, Business Analysts, and lines of business to estimate level-of-effort, timing, and feasibility to design new systems based on business requirements, and to optimize system and program functionality.
• Review coding for a group of software engineers to ensure alignment with business needs, change control procedures, and Frost development standards.
• Develop automation tools to enhance the provisioning, management, and administration of banking applications and security in a repeatable, standardized, and efficient manner.
• Identifying projects to enhance banking applications across the organization.
• Making recommendations to management and implementing banking applications enhancement projects.
• Developing and maintaining documentation and procedures for banking application engineering and administration.
• Maintaining an in-depth knowledge of current and emerging banking applications and development principles and industry standards.
• Analyze and resolve complex application issues while ensuring a scalable, secure, and redundant application/systems that comply with Frost specifications and security standards.

To be successful, you will need:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, in a related field, or equivalent experience
• Demonstrated ability to independently identify program issues and develop the appropriate solution, typically requiring at least 2 years of experience
• Strong understanding of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures associated with programming
• 2+ years demonstrated experience in one or more script/programming languages (Perl, Bash scripting, Korn shell scripting, Sed, Awk, Python, or Java)
• Proficient in the AIX and Linux Operating Systems
