OVERVIEW

Caribou Thunder is seeking a Software Engineer II to support a Department of Defense program utilizing Agile Software Development. The ideal candidate will possess and apply a comprehensive knowledge across key tasks and high impact assignments. Plan and lead major assignments. Operate with extensive latitude in developing methodology and present solutions to problems. Evaluate performance results and recommend major changes affecting short-term project growth and success.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM plus 5 years of experience in software development, including analysis, design, code, test, and integration.
• OR Master’s degree in a STEM discipline and 3 years of related experience.
• OR an additional 4 years of experience in lieu of a degree

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design, develop, document, test and debug applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions. 
• Conducts multidisciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software.
• Determines computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls.
• Prepares operating instructions; designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems.
• Ensures software standards are met.
• As a key member of the team working in a fast-paced environment, you will use Agile methodology for software development.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Software analysis and design experience
• Experience with C++
• Demonstrates leadership skills
• Experience working with Agile Framework

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience with Object Oriented Methodology
• Linux experience
• Atlassian Tools (Jira, Confluence, Fisheye Crucible, etc.)
• Experience with Git distributed version control system
