The Role 

Software Engineer II - Abacus Team 

Why We Have This Role

Qualtrics is seeking Software Engineers to join our ABACUS team! This team is building the analytical engine that enables advanced statistical capabilities required by our Qualtrics products. 

How You’ll Grow

  • Collaborate with your peers, prioritize features, and work with a sense of urgency to deliver value to our customers
  • Develop scalable, robust, and highly available microservices to perform simple to complex statistical analyses and build/deploy machine learning models
  • Develop on the cloud computing infrastructure at Qualtrics and help build, distribute, scale, and optimize these technologies
  • Partner with and incorporate feedback from other specialists, tech-ops, and product managers

Things You’ll Do 

  • Developing frameworks to perform analysis, particularly with the Python data stack of numpy/pandas/pyarrow, that allow other developers to add new analyses quickly that are performant by default
  • Developing APIs for analysis that can perform computations in real time
  • Developing infrastructure to perform analyses like cluster analysis, regression models, decision tree models, and other machine learning models
  • Scaling the infrastructure and services to help these APIs grow as the platform grows

What We’re Looking For on Your Resume 

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science (mathematical and/or computational background)
  • 2+ years of relevant full-time software experience
  • Knowledge of open source/industry standard data processing, storage, and serving technologies.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills
  • Familiarity with python data processing libraries/frameworks(numpy/pandas/pyarrow)
  • Experience with Python
  • Familiarity with SQL databases 
  • Backend development experience

For full-time positions, this pay range is for base per year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on location, job-related knowledge, education, skills, and experience. For part-time or intern positions, this pay range is for base pay per hour. A sign-on bonus and restricted stock units may be included in an employment offer, in addition to a range of medical, financial, and other benefits, based on eligibility criteria.
