Software Engineer II, (Backend) API Security

You would be working within the API Governance team of Postman, which comprises Software Engineers, security engineers ,UX designers, and product managers and aims to provide users access to security, compliance, and governance tools within Postman, thereby eliminating the need for separate integrations or workflows to perform regular checks during or after API development. This position reports to the Engineering Manager.

• Building features that position Postman as a comprehensive API governance platform

• Building features in the Postman app that allows users to identify and mitigate API security vulnerabilities.

• Interact with Product, Design, and Engineering teams to spec, build, test, and deliver new features

• Improve quality and reliability by improving existing tests and writing new ones.

• Break complex problems down into smaller tasks to execute.

• 3-5 years of experience developing complex, distributed software applications at Postman’s scale.

• Proficient with Javascript, node.js, and strong understanding of web fundamentals.

• Has a point of view and is comfortable and prior experience in collaborating and respectfully challenging other stakeholders, such as PM, TL, EM etc.

• Experience in working with large datasets is a bonus.

• Previous experience in creating developer tools is a bonus

• You enjoy learning and sharing knowledge within and across teams.

• You have a product-oriented mindset and empathy for the users.
