About the Role

You will be joining the UberEats Order Platform Team. This team supports mainly 3 tracks - Keeping standards for existing platforms to run business operations, supporting core products that need changes at the platform level, and writing the Next-Gen order platform that could spawn new delivery verticals quickly, is maintainable, and scalable.

About the Team

As a Backend Engineer in the Order Platform Team at Uber, which is situated within the broader Grocery/Consumer Fulfillment organization, you'll be working on code that's closest to the business and is capable of scaling millions of transactions over years to come. The work you do will impact live Delivery orders across the globe.

You will engage with partners across teams to lead the development and maintenance of backend services and solutions to support user-facing products used across Uber Eats. You will mentor other backend engineers on the team while raising the overall engineering quality bar while ensuring the reliability of platforms/services.

Basic Qualifications

- Masters OR equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or related field OR 3-years full-time Software Engineering work experience, WHICH INCLUDES 2-years total technical software engineering experience in one or more of the following areas:

- Programming language (e.g. C, C++, Java, Python, or Go)

- Note the 2-years total of specialized software engineering experience may have been gained through education and full-time work experience, additional training, coursework, research, or similar (OR some combination of these). The years of specialized experience are not necessarily in addition to the years of Education & full-time work experience indicated.

Preferred Qualifications

- Product engineering

- Scalability engineering

- Distributed systems

For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$158,000 per year - USD$175,500 per year.

For Sunnyvale, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$158,000 per year - USD$175,500 per year.

For all US locations, you will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp. You will also be eligible for various benefits.
