Software Engineer II - DXF

The Data Exchange Framework team’s mission is to build new tools and services for getting data into and out of Klaviyo. We process and transform data at low latency and high scale. We strive to make it easy so that our customers can get the data they need and focus on what they do best.

How you’ll make an impact:

• Build and manage high scale, real time data pipelines including monitoring and proactive alerting
• Develop and maintain DXF code, infrastructure and tech stack
• Create UI features for data configuration and management
• Build reusable components, participate in design & code reviews and help maintain the company’s overall architecture
• Work with product, design and other stakeholders to build features and services that do what’s best for our customers and their customers

Your First 90 Days

• In your first 30 days, you will get acclimated to Klaviyo and our product:
  • During the first two weeks, you will be immersed in an onboarding program that introduces you to the company and the product.
  • Onboard into Engineering, set up your development environment and work through sample projects to gain familiarity with the Klaviyo codebase
  • Meet the rest of the DXF team and start learning about what we do
• In your first 60 days, you will become a valuable member of the team:
  • Begin designing, building and testing software in partnership with the rest of the team
  • Meet more Klaviyos, attend tech talks & design reviews and learn more about the overall Klaviyo infrastructure and tech stack
• In your first 90 days, you will continue to increase your influence:
  • Help the team collaborate with product and design to plan and refine DXF’s 18-month roadmap
  • Continue gaining experience as you build more features, begin contributing to design & code reviews, identify areas of interest where you might start to become a subject matter expert

What We’re looking for:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
• 2+ years of experience in software development, and strong knowledge of computer science fundamentals with exposure to software design and architecture
• Experience debugging and improving application performance
• Enjoy learning and working with new technologies ranging from the frontend to backend
• Comfort with cross team collaboration

Nice to have:

• Experience with full stack development
• Experience working with both monolithic and microservices architectures
• Hands-on experience designing reliable, fault-tolerant, and high performance distributed systems
• Experience with AWS, Kubernetes, CI/CD
• Track record of working on high visibility projects with requirements you have to actively seek out. Desire to be judged on measurable outcomes and change process to achieve those outcomes

We don’t expect you to have any experience in the tools below and we will provide whatever training you need to level up and succeed!
