Job Description

Position Summary

As a Software Engineering II, you will coach, mentor, and train teammates with a heightened understanding of Arvig's systems, technologies, and best practices. Design, implement, and maintain internal and external full-stack enterprise applications, systems, and integration solutions aligned with user and business needs

Qualifications

You are required to have:

  • Associate's degree in computer science or software development
  • A minimum of 5 years experience (educational or professional) with at least one object-oriented development language and related relational database techniques and frontend technologies.
  • Understanding of front end web development technologies such as: HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, Bootstrap, Vue.js, React,

    etc.
  • Understanding of back end web development technologies and concepts such as: RESTful APIs, WSDL APIs, OAuth2,

    and more
  • Understanding of MVC frameworks such as Laravel, agile development practices, and other modern software

    development methodologies
  • Able to utilize and recommend the use of automation software tools such as Zapier, Workato, Mulesoft AnyPoint Connect,

    Airtable, and more when appropriate
  • Demonstrated performance in documenting and completing software engineering tasks
  • Demonstrated application of software development standards for both the company and industry

Additional preferred qualifications:

  • A four-year degree in Computer Science, Software Development, or equivalent experience
  • Understanding of basic system administration techniques to troubleshoot in a Linux based environment
  • Understanding of Docker and containerization, and the ability to run Laravel and other technologies within
  • Understanding of DevOps tools and technologies such as Kubernetes, Rancher, CircleCI, GitHub Actions, and more
  • Ability to extract clear project requirements and expected outcomes from both internal and external customers

Schedule

Hours for this position are Monday-Friday, 8:00AM-4:30PM.

Location

This position can be located in one of our Arvig locations with the possibility of a hybrid schedule or work from home. Must live in Minnesota.
