Software Engineer II (PHP)

We are growing fast, and we are now looking for a Software Engineer II (PHP) to work closely with Development, QA, DevOps, Support and Product. You are a leader that will participate in senior technology strategy discussions, drive ideation across a distributed software team, develop implementation roadmaps and work with technical individuals to transform this into software products and solutions.

What you’ll do: 

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable and secure applications using PHP and Go.

• Create, modify, and extend E-Commerce platform functionalities, apps, or themes as needed.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product, design, and other engineering squads, to deliver solutions that meet business needs.
• Write clean, well-documented, and efficient code following best practices.
• Participate in code reviews, contribute to technical discussions, and maintain a high standard of code quality.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize application performance.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 2+ years of hands-on experience with PHP development.
• Strong understanding of web development principles, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery.
• Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
• Knowledge of MySQL or other relational databases.

What will make you stand out: 

• Experience in developing and/or customizing Shopify stores or apps.
• Familiarity with Shopify’s API and Liquid templating language.
• Understanding of eCommerce principles and a passion for building user-friendly solutions.
• Knowledge of modern front-end frameworks (e.g., React) is a plus.
