Job Description

As a Senior Software Engineer, you’ll dive into projects focusing on team cohesiveness and cross-team goals. You’ll lead without authority and provide other engineers with a clear illustration of extraordinary engineering.
VALORANT is Riot’s take on a character-based tactical shooter (for more info on VALORANT, click here!). As a Sr. Software Engineer on the VALORANT team, you will help Riot continue to build and deliver our exciting entry into the FPS genre. You will keep the content developers’ experience in mind as you develop systems and tools to support VALORANT’s development team. You will also work with artists, designers, and producers to improve developer efficiency to deliver genre-defining experiences to our players. You will report to our Engineering Manager.
Responsibilities:
Monitor and increase the performance of the Unreal Editor
Work with developers (artists, designers, engineers, etc.) to identify opportunities for Unreal workflow improvements and build plans to implement
Build and maintain Unreal tooling for multiple disciplines across multiple platforms
Set the technical direction for deliverables in alignment with tech leadership and product strategy
Break down and execute multi-month efforts in collaboration with other disciplines and/or engineering teams
Mentor engineers to help develop their software engineering and technical best practices

Required Qualifications:3+ years of software development experience
2+ years of C++ development experience
Developed and delivered software in an Agile software development environment
Delivered at least one multi-team project using the Unreal Engine
Built tools and pipelines to handle the integration of standard content types into a game development workflow

Desired Qualifications:Developed Unreal Editor extensions for designers, artists, and engineers
Developed Unreal plugins used by a game development team
Implemented Unreal multi-platform test automation
Shipped at least one multi-platform online AAA game
1+ years of experience developing in C#
