Software Engineer II - REMOTE
Job Description
As a Software Engineer on our Machine Learning Automation team at CH Robinson, you will collaborate with our data science teams in upstream data science projects, integrate with third party platforms to extend the reach of our existing data science products, and contribute to a robust and dynamic automation platform. The primary focus will be on scaling and stabilizing our automation platform while contributing to new platform integrations. You will be joining a growing data science team and will have the unique opportunity to help shape the future.

Responsibilities:
- Partner with third party platform teams, data scientists, and operation teams to identify automation opportunities that drive business value.
- Proactively troubleshoot applications and identify performance and scalability issues providing effective options for resolution
- Leverage Azure cloud resources to create highly scalable event driven applications.
- Participate in design and review processes of application and infrastructure architectures to develop new patterns and practices.
- Increase code quality through writing unit, integration, and acceptance tests
- Collaborate with other software engineers and teams on code reviews, development infrastructure, and process enhancements
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience collaborating in a team environment shipping software
- Proficient creating applications and features in an object-oriented environment (C#, .NET, Java, JavaScript, Python)
- Proficiency developing containerized applications
- Working experience with database objects in relational databases (ex. ex. MS SQL, Oracle, Postgres) including schema design, stored procedure development and performance and optimization techniques, or non-relational databases (ex. MongoDB)
- Experience with continuous integration systems such as Jenkins, Travis, or CircleCI, Azure Pipelines
- Proficient with version control systems (ex. Git, GitHub, TFS, etc.)
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience and a high school diploma/GED
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficiency developing and deploying applications on Kubernetes
- Experience with cloud technologies (Azure, AWS, GCP)
- Experience working with workflow orchestration or DAG tools such as Airflow
- Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
