Position Summary

Avantax Wealth Management is seeking Software Engineer III who will function as a full-stack developer responsible for architecture, feature development, and technical operation. This is a senior role directing full-time developers and contractors, and interfaces with product management and business units.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

The major responsibilities are listed below. To perform the job successfully, the individual must be able to execute with minimal supervision while maintaining communication and confidence in the roadmap. • Responsible for the vision and execution of the platform and features, autonomously and in collaboration.
• Direct full-time developers and contractors on the team.
• Develop and maintain packages, upgrades, and patches to existing operational components.
• Ownership and performance of code in production, including test coverage and security.
• Collaborate with Product Managers and business unit owners to design, implement, and launch applications and features.
• Continuous focus on improving user experience.
• Present key designs and review processes with the architecture team.
• Provide support to other units, businesses, and technology.

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in computer science/related field/equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 5-8 years of web application development experience.
• Experience with C#/.Net, Python, and PostgreSQL.
• Experience and passion for frontend technologies: Django, VueJs, React, ES6, Bootstrap, SASS.
• Experience with AWS technologies
• Experience with service-oriented/messaging/microservices architecture.
• Experience in working with rules and decision engines, transactional SaaS web apps, and content management is a plus.

• Sitting for an extended period.
