Software Engineer

We are looking for a talented Software Engineer to join our team.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

• Develop information systems by studying operations; design, develop and install software solutions; support and develop a software team of developers responsible for building new and supporting existing applications. Prioritize well, communicate clearly, have a consistent track record of delivery, and have excellent software engineering skills. Creative engineering balanced with high quality and a customer focus. • Develop software solutions by studying information needs; conferring with users; studying systems flow, data usage and work processes; investigating problem areas; following the software development lifecycle; Document and demonstrate solutions; Develops flow charts, layouts and documentation.
• Interprets feasibility by evaluating analysis, problem definition, requirements, solution development and proposed solutions; Innovative awareness of business needs and how to suggest the tools to manage them.
• Contributes to solutions by determining and designing system specifications, standards and programming.
• Recommends state-of-the-art development tools, programming techniques and computing equipment; participate in educational opportunities; read professional publications; maintain personal networks; participate in professional organizations; remain passionate about great technologies, especially open source.
• Provide information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing development and issues while protecting IT assets by keeping information confidential; Improve applications by conducting systems analysis recommending changes in policies and procedures.
• Define applications and their interfaces, allocate responsibilities to applications, understand solution deployment, and communicate requirements for interactions with solution context, define Nonfunctional Requirements (NFRs).
• Support and develop software engineers by providing advice, coaching and educational opportunities; Grow engineering teams by interviewing, recruiting and hiring.

Education, Licenses, Certifications

• College, university, or equivalent degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related subject, or relevant equivalent experience required.
• This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Experience

Significant experience working as a software engineer with the following knowledge and experiences is highly preferred:

• Working in Agile environments;
• Fundamental IT technical skill sets;
• Taking a system from coping requirements through actual launch of the system;
• Communicating with users, other technical teams and management to collect requirements, identify tasks, provide estimates and meet production deadlines;
• Professional software engineering best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing and operations.
• Capable of managing a mixed team of internal developers, managed services, technicians, and corporate sources in support of current software development efforts. Proven skill at setting design directions resulting in high levels of software quality and reliability thereby insuring minimal down-time for MES and integrations. Drive continuous advancement of the current and future MES products based on customer's demands.
• Manage I4.0 efforts for JEP production-related processes and ensuring relevant software engineering principles and industrial standards (ISA95, OPC UA, etc.) are correctly applied.
• Oversight of database and server infrastructure architecture including near term move of MES Oracle RDBMS from Solaris server to VMWare Linux servers and alignment with CMI cloud first direction where appropriate.
• Utilize CMI current toolsets (JIRA, Confluence, ) to increase the effectiveness and visibility of the agile work management efforts across the teams supporting JEP.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary range is $97,600 - $146,400. Please note that the salary range provided is a good faith estimate on the applicable range. The final salary offer will be determined after taking into account relevant factors, including a candidate's qualifications and experience, where appropriate.
