Complete Description

As a Software Engineer III, you will be responsible for designing, developing, documenting, testing, and debugging applications software and systems that provide logical and mathematical solutions.

• You will collaborate with equipment designers, hardware engineers, and other stakeholders to plan, design, develop, and utilize electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software.
• Additionally, you will analyze system capabilities, resolve problems, ensure software standards are met, and contribute to the success of the PNT program.
• You will play a crucial part in the design, development, documentation, testing, and debugging of applications software and systems.
• Your responsibilities will include conducting multidisciplinary research, collaborating with equipment designers and hardware engineers, and utilizing your expertise in Unix/Linux operating systems, Python, and C++ with a focus on time and communications interfaces.
• You will analyze system capabilities, determine computer user needs, prepare operating instructions, and design and develop compilers, assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems.
• You will ensure that software standards are met throughout the development process, paying close attention to quality and performance.
• Familiarity with Position Navigation and Timing (PNT) services will be essential in understanding the program's requirements and delivering effective solutions.
• Experience with the Ballistic Missile Defense System will also be beneficial in this role.

Minimum Requirements

• Expertise in Unix/Linux operating systems, particularly RHEL (Red Hat Enterprise Linux).
• Proficiency in Python and C++ with a specific focus on time and communications interfaces.
• Familiarity with Position Navigation and Timing (PNT) services.
• High proficiency in technical problem-solving.
• Familiarity with the Ballistic Missile Defense System.

Preferred Requirements

• While not required, the following qualifications are preferred:
• Experience prioritizing program efforts in a high-tempo environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Familiarity with Overhead Persistent Infrared (OPIR) and Electro-Optical Infrared (EOIR) sensors and simulations.
• Agile development experience.
