Software Engineer III (Full Stack)

ROLE
We’re looking to add a Software Engineer III to an already awesome engineering team. You will be responsible for building and maintaining multiple SaaS applications in the social media space. You will work in small, cross-functional teams and love delivering value to our customers through shipping code. We deploy as often as we can and would love you to deploy to production beginning day one.

WHAT YOU’LL DO ?

• Implement requirements as provided by product managers. You will interact with the design team to build an understanding of what is needed and create the same
• Use (and re-use) pattern libraries to create engaging user interfaces that are accessible and follow the needed standards
• You will also interact with other full-stack developers
• This is a fairly technical position that involves a lot of coding. You’ll be in the code a lot, adding and optimizing large amounts of JS/React/CSS/SASS and markup for a robust, complex, and responsive platform
• You’ll also be spending a lot of time with the product team, helping estimate tasks and suggesting user-interface improvements whenever you can

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR ?

• A Graduate in Computer Science or equivalent degree
• 5+ years of experience in full-stack (React.js/AngularJS/Vue.js + JAVA) software development building enterprise scale applications in a cloud / hosted environment
• Strong hands on experience in JavaScript (ES6), HTML and CSS
• Knowledge of object-oriented programming, design patterns, concurrency, files and Databases
• Strong Hands on Experience in JavaScript and working experience with React.js, Next.js, Vue.js, Ember.js, or similar
• Strong Hands on Experience in Core JAVA, Spring, Hibernate
• Expertise of building and maintaining common libraries in React JS, Redux, CSS preprocessors like LESS, SASS, CSS3
• Strong understanding of and experience in working with GraphQL or REST
• Strong experience with XML, DOM, and templating schemes e.g. FreeMarker, Handlebars, XSLT
• Working knowledge of server-side programming frameworks: Node.js
• Knowledge of web, accessibility, SEO standards
• Experience with relational databases like MySQL or Postgres
• Experience in writing and maintaining unit tests using frameworks such as Jest/Enzyme
• Someone who understands GIT, pull requests and good software development practices
• Knowledge of deploying applications to Docker, Kubernetes

WHAT WOULD ADD VALUE ?

• Experience working in Java IDEs
• Experience working with ApolloClient and GraphQL
• Experience working with TinyMCE
• Experience with MVC frameworks such as Spring, Django, or similar
• Experience with configuration management tools preferably GIT for branching, merging, and continuous integration.
• Working experience in agile teams
• Basic understanding of social media domain
