The Software Engineer III is responsible for application development for the GeneXpert Systems. You'll work with a team of Software Engineers to develop the next generation molecular systems to improve patients' lives.

This position is part of the Software Engineering group will be located in Sunnyvale, California - Hybrid. At Cepheid, our mission is delivering A Better Way to improve patient outcomes by enabling access to molecular diagnostic testing everywhere.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

• Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug new software products using Java.
• Maintain robust software applications by participating in software development, debugging and testing.
• Follow the Agile software development process. Code reviews, design practices, SCRUM software development cycles with Sprints, user stories, task estimation and planning.
• Actively research and apply industry best practices for software development.

The essential requirements of the job include:

• Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of related work experience in full stack software product development OR Master's degree with 3 years of related work experience.
• Software Development background with Java, Angular, Spring, REST, SQL.
• Experience with Test-Driven Development and automated testing (e.g., JUnit, Selenium).
• Understanding of Agile methodologies and principles. Preferably Scrum/Kanban.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

• Good knowledge of Object Oriental programming and design patterns.
• Strong analytical/troubleshooting skills and self-motivated.
• Willingness to learn to write requirements, documentation, and design specifications.

The salary ranges this role is ($110k-$130k). This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
