Job Summary

As a Software Engineer in Test (SET) you will work as part of a team responsible for building and qualifying Cloud Storage solutions and Virtual Storage platforms. You will participate in activities that include test design and automation development for Quality Assurance of operating systems and drivers that run NetApp storage applications. As part of the Research and Development function, the overall focus of the group is on competitive market and customer requirements, technology advances, product quality, product cost and time-to-market. Software Dev/QA engineers focus on enhancements to existing products as well as new product development.

Job Responsibilities

• Participate as a proactive contributor and subject matter expert
• Responsible for unstructured tasks and addressed issues that are less defined, requiring new perspectives, creative approaches and with more interdependencies
• Limited supervision and direction is provided, as this individual can operate, drive results and set priorities independently
• Successfully convey information to stakeholders at many levels related to the position
• Work effectively with senior engineers & management within Business Unit

Job Requirements

• Expected to demonstrate skills in test design and development, automation framework design and implementation, and troubleshoot critical cloud storage and virtual platform issues.
• A major part of your responsibility will be to participate in several phases of the product development cycle including automated testcase design and development, test execution and triage.
• As a part of the Cloud Engineering team, you will participate in technical discussions within the immediate group and across functions, where evaluating and executing test design and test execution plans for virtual storage products.
• Requirements:
• Experience in test design and development, and strong background in testcase automation and test library development
• Experience in scripting or programming languages. Perl & especially Python experience preferred
• Knowledge in virtualization, storage and cloud technologies is preferred
• Experience working on AWS, Azure or Google Cloud Platform is a plus
• Strong oral and written communication skills are essential
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment and demonstrate initiative in driving unstructured tasks
• Strong aptitude for learning new technologies

Education

IC - Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience.Mgr & Exec - Typically requires a minimum of 3 years of related experience.
